Top 3 bargains of the January transfer window

Soccer News:

At a time when clubs around Europe were ready to spend multi-million pounds to grab the players that best fit their needs, there were some that followed the low-risk route and can benefit greatly from it in the coming months. While some of these players are still nurturing at the elite level, many of them have already performed to their full potential with their previous employers.

Here are 3 players that can be termed as the biggest bargains of January transfer window: –

Seydou Doumbia

Although the former CSKA Moscow man has been known around the Premier League due to the goals he scored against Manchester City in Champions League this season, the heir of Didier Drogba for the Ivory Coast team is worth the 14 million fee that Italian side Roma paid for his signature.

Having scored 10 goals for the Russian side already before expediting his move to the Italian giants, the 27 year old forward can provide Roma with the necessary push for a Serie A title this season.

Manolo Gabbiadini

Having lured young players like Fernando Torres and Dirk Kuyt to Liverpool during his managerial tenure at the Merseyside, Rafael Benetiz has been known as a man for attracting prime young talent to wherever he goes and the latest scalp of Sampdoria striker Manolo Gabbiadini seems to be another feather in his cap.

Being in the form of his life before moving to COPA Italia Champions Napoli, Gabbiadini scored 7 goals in just 13 appearances for Sampdoria in Serie A. He has also got a dream start at Napoli as he earned his 1st goal for the club in only his 3rd appearance.

Ryan Bertrand

Although Jose Mourinho has been known to extract the maximum fee out of the players he intends to wave-off, Southampton have seemed to struck gold with the Portuguese with the signing of left back Ryan Bertrand.

Although Bertrand moved to Southampton in summer last season on loan with hope of getting position in the Chelsea squad, the rise of Cesar Azpilicueta only meant that there will be limited options for him.

And with Southampton enjoying a roller-coaster ride in the Premier League, Bertrand has made his stay at the Saint Mary stadium permanent in January for 10 million pounds.
