How will Real Madrid lineup against Atletico Madrid on Saturday

LA Liga News:

In the wake of that 2-1 win against Sevilla where the current European Champions got away with a win, Real Madrid suffered a treble in terms of injuries as the likes of Marcelo, Ramos and James went out on crutches. Adding salt to their wounds, all 3 of them have been ruled out of their crunch fixture against Atletico which means that Carlo Ancelloti has to field a weakened team against the reigning LA Liga Champions.

Here is how we think that Real Madrid might lineup against the reigning LA LIGA Champions: –

Iker Casillas

On the back of an impressive performance against Sevilla in the midweek, the 1 time World Cup winning goal-keeper will start in the goal for Real Madrid. In his last 10 appearances against Atletico, Casillas has just kept 3 clean sheets, a stat which he will like to improve on Saturday.

Dani Carvajal

Being the 2nd top player for Real Madrid this season in terms of aggression, the Spanish right back should be in the starting 11 ahead of Alvaro Arbeloa on the weekend. Although Arbeloa played full 90 minutes against Sevilla in the mid-week, Carlo Ancelloti will most probably field the young Spaniard on the right back position in this match.

Raphael Varane (CB)

Although the Frenchman hasn’t started that much games for Real Madrid this season, the recent injury to Sergio Ramos means that Varane will make his 1st start for Real Madrid in LA LIGA for the 1st time in more than a month.

Nacho Fernandez (CB)

Having made just 2 starts for Real Madrid this season in LA LIGA, the Spaniard is expected to make a partnership with Raphael Varane in this match. Courtesy to the red card of Sergio Ramos and the out-of-form Pepe, Nacho might get a Legendary status if thing goes his way on Saturday.

Alvaro Arbeloa

Being a right back for the most part of his career and having won the World Cup, the Champions League and LA Liga from that position, the current decline of form by Arbeloa has limited him to a left back role in the club. After Marcelo went out against Sevilla, the Spaniard impressed well and kept the Sevilla midfielders in check due to which, he might earn his 2nd start in over a weekend.

Sami Khedira

Although the German was out of favor for most part of this season with the Real Madrid boss, the current injury crisis has helped him to re-construct his claim for a Real Madrid position in the long-term.

Toni Kroos

Being the German Player of the Year for 2014, the German is the undisputed king of Real Madrid this season. Having scored 1 goal and provided 8 assists to his team-mates already, Kroos might prove to be a binding factor for his team on Saturday.

Isco

Being linked with the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool for the most part of this season, Isco has performed extravagantly to prolong his Real Madrid career. After the injury of the Welshman Gareth Bale which kept him out for nearly a month, Isco grabbed the opportunity with both hands and soared his goal tally to 2 this season.

Gareth Bale

Although the Welshman has competed largely with Isco for his position on the right wing this season, Gareth Bale, on current form, will be a major threat to Diego Simeone’s men. Having scored 3 and assisted the same in last 6 matches, Gareth Bale has been a major part of the BBC that has catapulted Real Madrid to the top of LA Liga table

Karim Benzema

Although it has been almost 6 years since the Frenchman signed his contract with Real Madrid, the current season ranks on the top when it comes to his performance. Having scored 11 goals already this season – which includes a goal against Barcelona -, Benzema should start up-front for Real Madrid.

Cristiano Ronaldo

Having seen out the 3 game ban which he earned courtesy to a foul play against Cordoba, Cristiano Ronaldo looks set to resume the goal scoring form which he attained before the 3 match ban. Having scored 28 goals already this season for Real Madrid, Ronaldo might become the fastest player to 30 goals if he achieves a brace on Saturday.
