Another problem in Spain soccer association, Copa del Rey finalist Barcelona and Athletic Bilbao wanted to play their final game in Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu. But Real Madrid declines their request and final game of Copa del Rey will probably be played in Valencia at Mestalla stadium.
It’s not a secret that both provinces Catalonia and Basque is not a fan of the capitol and especial Real Madrid, so it’s not a strange to see their request for playing in capital. After two finalists won their semi-finals games, Athletic Bilbao president Josu Urrutia and Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu send a letter and ask to play their final game at Santiago Bernabeu. You might ask why is such a big problem for Real Madrid about letting them to play at Santiago Bernabeu. Copa del Rey started after Carlos Padros (later president of Real Madrid) suggest a tournament to celebrate coronation of King Alfonso XIII and king was not favorite person in both Catalonia and Basque.
