Chelsea set to launch massive bid for Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke

Chelsea Transfer News

Having had one of the most enviable midfields in the World at the helm with players of the quality of Fabregas and Matic at its hart, Jose Mourinho is looking to launch a massive bid for next season’s Champions League title – if his transfer targets are to be kept in mind.

While they were previously linked heavily with Paul Pogba, Chelsea are now going after the 24-year-old Spaniard Koke in order to strengthen their midfield options for next season.

While Cesc Fabregas is still a leading clean-sheet maker in the Premier League this season with 16 assists, the form of the Spaniard has dipped hugely since the dawn of New Year. With 14 assists in the opening 19 matches of this season, Fabregas has managed just 2 in the next 8.

Thus, while the voids are covered by the form of Hazard of late, Mourinho is taking no chances for the 2015/16 season should the drop in form of the Spaniard becomes permanent.

Looking at Koke and although he is a bit naïve in experience when compared with Fabregas, the Young Spaniard has every ability in his book to achieve a brilliant career, both for his club and National team.

Having played in 25 matches for the reigning LA Liga Champions this season, Koke has scored 2 goals with 9 assists. He is the leading assist-maker for Atletico Madrid in LA Liga this season.

And while this is his 6th season in Atletico Madrid colors, his performances have gone meticulously over the past 6 years at the Vicente Calderon.

Talking about the price tag and although Koke isn’t a household name among the English folklore, Chelsea have to play equal – if not more than the amount of money which they paid for Diego Costa last year.
