Arsenal transfer news: 5 signings that will make Arsenal title contenders next season

Arsenal transfer News

While this may sound as something incomprehensible as Arsenal and a Premier League title seems a distant memory, the Gunners have what it takes to land a Premier League title home. However, for that to happen, they may have to consult their coffers as despite spending over 80million pounds over last 2 seasons, there are still some areas in their team that needs tinkering.

Here are 5 signings that will make Arsenal title contenders next season: –

Pedro

While Arsenal have already raided Barcelona last season to satisfy their needs, a re-visit to the Camp Nou wouldn’t go bad if they are after the right player. Looking at the definition of the ‘’right-player’’ and Pedro pops up as a name that suits perfectly the credentials that are required to play at the London club.

And with his recent outburst over lack of game time, Pedro might come to Arsenal with a fraction of a money that Arsenal paid to Real Madrid for Mesut Ozil. And with the player also itching for more first-team action, the deal will be swift if Arsenal offers the right price.

Iikay Gundogan

Although Borussia Dortmund have done well to erase the fears of relegation in recent weeks, there is still a concern among their fans over the situation of Gundogan’s contract. With both Mats Hummels and Marco Reus signing long term contracts, Gundogan has opted to ponder a little more on his future and decide in the summer.

Looking at Arsenal and taking into perspective the departures of both Arteta and Flamini, Gundogan would be a tailor-made defensive midfielder for the Gunners.

Morgan Schneiderlin

While he plays on the same role as Iikay Gundogan, the infusion of Premier League experience ranks him above than the German if Arsenal are to sign anyone of them. Having made 22 appearances for the Saints this season – 2 of which came from the bench, Schneiderlin has been one of the top ranked assets in the Champions League aspiring side.

With his ability to pass the ball, to initiate moves and more importantly, to break the attacks of the opposing team, Schneiderlin can fill the void that was created by the departure of Alex Song and Cesc Fabregas from Arsenal.

Raphael Varane

While they already have 3 solid center-backs at the helm at the Emirates, there is no-one that can match the potential of the Frenchman Raphael Varane. At just 21 years of age and still having a pool of experience under his belt, Varane would most definitely be another jewel in the crown of World-class players at Arsenal.

While the defenders of Arsenal are always good on set-pieces, Varane – with his additional pace and a rare goal, will provide extra incentive for Arsene Wenger to choose from. However, having said all that, Varane won’t come cheap and might earn a hefty price tag.

Paulo Dybala

While he isn’t that source of name which is household when it comes to the English fan-base, Dybala has turning out to be a goal-scoring sensation in the Serie A this season. Having scored 12 goals in just 27 appearances for the mid-table side Palermo, the Argentine has been a main-reason due to which Palermo are eyeing a place in the top half of the Serie A table.

He has been directly responsible of exactly 50% of the goals that the Italian outfit has managed this season.
