4 reasons why Raheem Sterling should leave Liverpool this summer

Liverpool News

Callous, cold-blooded or in-different, no matter how you rate the interview that was given to BBC by Raheem Sterling, it had plenty of substance in the eyes of a neutral. While Liverpool have nurtured him as a young-talent before acquiring him as a wonder-kid at the age of 16, Raheem Sterling owes the club –nothing more and nothing less, than those who said good-bye to the club after being introduced to the World.

Here are 4 reasons why Raheem Sterling should leave Liverpool: –

Lack of consistency at Liverpool

Just like an ordinary person is un-aware of the height that he will attain while jumping on a spring-mattress, the situation of Liverpool football club since their Champions League triumph in 2005 has been the same. While there has been plenty of lows for the club – finishing 7th under Rafael Benetiz before being knocked out by Basel from Champions League this season, it has attained a small amount of highs.

However, for a player that is bidding to become the World’s best, this situation is far from ideal and looking at the situation in which Brendan Rodgers will find himself in the summer after failing to get Liverpool back in Champions League, Sterling has every right to choose his future.

Lack of World-class players to learn from

There is a golden role when you want to develop a world-class player at the helm: play him with World class players. However, at Liverpool as we all know, there has been shortage of stellar names since the departure of Rafael Benetiz.

Although Torres, Suarez and the ever-present Steven Gerrard were there, they were nurtured as World-class rather than being bought as one. Thus, for a 20-year-old who himself is in the stage of development, the over-reliance of a whole team has affected Sterling badly this season.

Better trophy Cabinet at the offing

While some Liverpool fans will refer to Torres and compare his trophy cabinet and performances after leaving Liverpool, Raheem Sterling would be a polar opposite if he decides to do what Torres did in 2012. While Torres was immediately thrust into the first team action at Chelsea, Sterling – to his benefit, will be handled with care at such a tender age.

Therefore, for a player who dreams of a soaring trophy cabinet throughout his life, the likes of Arsenal, Bayern Munich or Real Madrid will definitely offer Sterling more promise than his current employers at Liverpool.

Future of Brendan Rodgers is in doubt

There is a precedence set by Liverpool since its inception: no Liverpool manager has survived 3 years without winning a trophy. And while Liverpool are still in the FA Cup – thanks to Simon Mignolet, a mid-week trip to Blackburn Rovers might serves as the make-or-break match for Brendan Rodgers.

While trophy wouldn’t have been that important if Liverpool would have qualified for Champions League, lack of Champions League football next season would be bitter for Liverpool owners to absorb after spending 100-million last summer.

While they have sacked the previous two managers for the sole reason – of not qualifying for Champions League, Brendan Rodgers is no different when it comes to the standard that is set by the Liverpool ownership.

And looking at the impact that Brendan Rodgers has on the youngster, any incoming manager will fail to replicate that if a change happens to be at Liverpool. While world-class players perform under all circumstances, the performance of Sterling under Hodgson for the English National team is a huge concern

While he departs for England scoring goals for fun for his club, the performances of Sterling for England have been far from ideal. Thus, as far as his performances are concerned, Sterling under any new manager might not be able to replicate his current form.
