Manchester United is on the win streak once more this season, after losing to Swansea (1-21) in round 26 of England Premiership they manage to have four straight win. Their last two wins are especial impressive and against teams that battle with them for the place in European competition Tottenham (3-0) and Liverpool (2-1).
Chelsea is still eight huge points in front of them on the top of Premiership, but Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal thinks that title race is still open and that they got a chance. Louis van Gaal said that he always said to critics that they will see at the end of season. Now nine rounds before the end Manchester United still have to play top three clubs in Premiership, in next round he will go against Manchester City and after that against Chelsea and then in May they will go against Arsenal.
Mathematically Manchester United still have chance to win Premiership, but its most likely mission impossible even if they win against all top three competitors. Even the “Great One” Jose Mourinho admit that the title race is now four club race, not three club race as it was before. Mourinho thinks that with the latest wins Manchester United show consistency in their play and results and that makes them a dangerous opponent.
One of players that bring this change to Manchester United is without doubt Belgium attacker Marouane Fellaini. At the start of the season Fellaini was on the bench and there was even some speculation that he might leave Old Trafford in the winter. But once he got a chance in starting XI he soon becomes one of key players for Manchester United.
“From the first training session he has done everything I have asked. He has been very open to what I have said and he wants to do. We can change the system but the way he is playing, I cannot change him. He can give a lot of balance to the team.”
Manchester United is playing against Aston Villa this weekend, 16th team in Premiership shouldn’t give any big problems for United especial if they want to stay in title race.
