The transfer talks around Cristiano Ronaldo never seem to stop and this transfer windows it’s the same story all over again. Furthermore, the rumors are once again coming from the city of Manchester. However, this time it’s not only from Manchester United, but from Manchester City as well.
Even though all of these rumors are hard to be taken serious, they are still something to be considered. Several reports have suggested that City’s director of football Txiki Begiristain has been discussing a possible world-record summer bid with Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes. However, it’s really hard to imagine Cristiano Ronaldo leaving Real Madrid – he is playing magnificent and is the main reason for Los Merengues being so good. Ronaldo doesn’t really look like someone that has the motivation to move and it’s even more unlikely that Madrid would consider selling him.
Moreover,it’s not only Ronaldo from the current Real Madrid roster that is being targeted by Manchester City – Pepe has long been on City’s radar. The chances that the Portuguese defender will head towards the UK are quite bigger than the chances Ronaldo will leave Spain. There have been a lot of uncertainties surrounding Pepe’s contract extension talks and City will definitely try and use those uncertainties as an advantage. Nevertheless, Ronaldo and Pepe share the same agent and Mendes has stated that Pepe is in no hurry to leave the Los Blancos.
As a conclusion it is almost safe to say that both Portuguese players aren’t going anywhere any time soon. However, this is the world of football, so every rumors should be taken into notice.
