NBA Rumors: The Atlanta Hawks have interest in Ray Allen

Basketball, NBA News:

The Atlanta Hawks have been flying unbelievably high all season long and this may become even better for them. They are currently the league’s best record holder, winning 49 games and losing just 9 since the start of the campaign. They have been clicking on all cylinders, looking as the main favorite from the East to reach the Finals. Furthermore, the Hawks management hasn’t stopped trying to improve the team’s roster even more. Recently there have been rumors that Atlanta has had discussions with representatives of the free agent Ray Allen.

Nothing is certain yet, but just the thought of the 3-point specialist joining the Hawks looks scary. They are already playing magnificent and if they find a way to persuade Allen to join them they could become the main favorite for the title. Allen hasn’t yet played this season, even though a couple of teams have been interested in signing him. The 39-year-old would be playing his 20th season this year if he decided to join a team. He is the current leader for made 3-pointers in the NBA and he would surely want to add one more championship ring to his collection. It’s really uncertain whether Ray will choose to play or retire, but if he wants at least another trip to the Finals, the Hawks may be the ideal team for that.

Nevertheless, it’s very clear whether the Hawks themselves really want to sign Allen. The team has been playing great until now and the chemistry has been on a high level. Bringing another player in the roster may prove to be disastrous. However, throughout his career Allen has always been known to be a very humble player that easily fits into teams. Furthermore, Atlanta has lost Thabo Sefolosha to a right calf injury and they wouldn’t mind having somebody fill his spot. Ray Allen would be perfect for the situation but whether the 3-point specialist will choose them is a whole other story.
