Until late the chances of any team signing the young Wolfsburg star, Kevin De Bruyne, were quite minimal. The team stated multiple times that they don’t have any intention of letting the player go as part of a transfer, at least during the upcoming summer. However, the latest speculations regarding De Bruyne state that Wolfsburg is ready to let their young star go, but the club that wants him should pay at least the full value of his contract, which is supposed to be around £58 million. Even though the amount is pretty significant, it has been reported that Manchester United is ready to spend it, in order to get the Belgian international play for them.
The Red Devils recently were able to convince Memphis Depay to join them in the summer, and it seems that the club isn’t quite done with making moves. If United finds a way to convince Wolfsburg to let De Bruyne go, they will receive one of the top young talents in the world. The Belgium international didn’t exactly play well when he was with Chelsea, but since joining Wolfsburg, he has been simply amazing. De Bruyne has scored fifteen times during this season and has also dished twenty-four assists. Furthermore, his improvement hasn’t been only statistical – the young star has become the leader of the German team, as he has polished all aspects of his game.
The latest statement that De Bruyne made regarding a possible transfer away from Wolfsburg was the following:
“You never know what will happen in football. A club might step in and make an offer that pleases Wolfsburg and also makes me happy. Right now, I say that I will stay in Wolfsburg. But I don’t like it when players say they’ll stay no matter what and are gone after the first offer.”
The Belgium international has a contract with Wolfsburg until 2019, but according to his words it’s not impossible for him to leave before that. It’s just a matter of time to see whether Manchester United are ready to offer such a big amount of money.
