EHF Women's Champions League: Buducnost beat Larvik and win their second title in history; Vardar beat Dinamo-Sinara and took the 3rd place

Women EHF CHampions League:


Today in Budapest Buducnost finally manage to get the EHF Women’s Champions League title, this is their second title in history. In final game Buducnost was better than Larvik (Denmark) 26-22 (14-8). Buducnost was dominating true entire game and didn’t allow any surprises from Larvik side; also Buducnost has become first team in history that manages to win EHF Women’s Champions League without defeat.


Unbeatable Buducnost didn’t give much chance to Larvik


Buducnost started strong and they took 4-0 lead at the start. Buducnost game plan was again proven to be unbeatable and their defense was looking great. Larvik had a lot of problems in their attack and their wingers didn’t have many chances for scoring in first half. But even with all this advantages on Buducnost side, Larvik didn’t give up. They start to exploit Buducnost weakness in defense and start slowing to come back in the game. Closes to equalizing the score Larvik was in 23’ when they were on -2 goals. But Buducnost quickly replay and with 5 goals in a row they get back to +6 goals advantage (14-8). That was also the score for first half-time. Only after ten minutes in second half Buducnost went to huge 8 goals lead (18-10). At the end of game Larvik change their defense to 5-1 and manage to get from 13-21 to 18-22 only eight minutes before the end. But they didn’t have strength to turn the game around as experienced Buducnost team close the game with final score 26-22. For Larvik Mork was best scorer with 10 goals and Hammerseng-Edin scored 6. For Buducnost Bulatovic scored 7 while Mehmedovic scored 6 goals.


Vardar second year in a row took 3rd place 


In the battle for 3rd place Macedonia team WHC Vardar SCBT was better than Dinamo-Sinara 28-26 (16-15). For Vardar Penezic scored 9 while for Dinamo-Sinara best scorer was Kochetova with 7 goals. Interesting thing is that this is second year in a row that Vardar has managed to win 3rd place in EHF Women’s Champions League.
