Soccer Rumors: Antoine Griezmann targeted by Chelsea

Soccer News and Rumors:

The 2014-15 season is slowly, but surely, coming to its end and the transfer rumors are starting to get even more. The latest speculation is regarding the Atletico Madrid forward, Antoine Griezmann, as it has been reported that Chelsea are interested in signing him during the summer transfer window. Furthermore, there is information that the player himself is keen on joining the team lead by Jose Mourinho. The French player has had a great season in Madrid and thanks to that, he has been able to attract the attention of the big European clubs.

According to The Telegraph, the situation is the following:

“Atletico Madrid are keen to renegotiate Griezmann’s current contract to increase the £43 million buy-out clause that was inserted into his deal after joining from Real Sociedad last summer. Griezmann, though, is understood to be trying to find out what the extent of Chelsea’s interest is before he makes any further decisions over his long-term future.”

Griezmann has shown great skills during the current campaign, and if Chelsea finds a way to sign him, they will definitely get a player that could create a lot of chances in their attack. The French international has scored 25 goals during the season and is one of the main reasons why Atletico Madrid has been able to maintain their third place in the Primera Division until now.

Furthermore, Griezmann isn’t the only player from Atletico Madrid in which the Blues are interested in. There have been a lot of reports that Jose Mourinho also want Diego Godin and Koke to join Chelsea during the summer transfer. If any of these moves really happen, it would be a pretty big problem for the Spanish club. Griezmann, Koke and Godin are all crucial players and Atletico won’t be able to replace them easily.
