Pakistan Cricket Board Decision For Second Test

The Pakistan cricket board has decided to move ahead for the second cricket test against Sri Lanka on Sunday 1st March 2009 in Lahore, regardless of security concerns faced by Pakistan.

This situation is due to the Supreme Court's decision that imposed ban on former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's contesting elections and elimination of Shahbaz as chief minister of Punjab. He is holding substantial power in Lahore and there is anxiety and extensive aggression everywhere in the consequences of the Supreme Court's decision.

Government of Pakistan has guaranteed full safety measures. Hence, the Pakistan cricket board has decided to continue with the test series in Lahore. Sri Lanka has asked for the high security and there is another option to shift the second test series to Karachi. However, the PCB is disinclined to shift the series.

On the other hand, foreign cricket teams are reluctant to come to Pakistan due to security concerns. However, the PCB has decided that the match would be on schedule.
