Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti, owner Frank McCourt and Boras met in Los Angeles on Wednesday to discuss on the new offer. This was confirmed by Dodgers spokesman Josh Rawitch but didn't elaborate more on the details of the said meeting.
Ramirez, who turns 37 in May, already turned down a one-year, $25 million proposal from the team three weeks ago. With this new offer, Ramirez has a chance to decide on his fate in 2010. He could choose to become a free agent or continue to play for the Dodgers with a $20 million salary.
After leading the Dodgers to the NL West title, hitting .396 with 17 homers, 53 RBIs, 36 runs scored, 74 hits and 35 walks in 53 regular-season games, the slugger came up even more powerful in the post season hitting .520 with four homers, 10 RBIs, nine runs scored and 11 walks in eight playoff games.
