Formula 1 – Abu Dhabi GP 2017 Race Results

Mercedes were very quick from the get-go with Valtteri Bottas & Lewis Hamilton quickly pulling away from the rest of the pack in the first few laps and having a duel throughout the race but due to how Abu Dhabi is designed the possibility of overtaking is very limited much to the dismay of the drivers as voiced publicly by Hamilton who would like to see the circuit changed to allow for more overtaking possibilities. Despite this the two Mercedes drivers were neck and neck the whole race with several attempts at overtaking made by Hamilton which were excellent defended by Bottas, at times it looked like Hamilton could take first place but Bottas’ defending was incredible forcing mistake after mistake for Hamilton!

The end results of the race were almost the exact same as the starting positions, the major upset was with Daniel Ricciardo who had to retire with a problem with his car which stopped him from continuing and Carlos Sainz who also retired due to a mistake made by the Renault team when changing his tyres leading to his left front tyre not being attached securely.

Tottenham 3-1 Real Madrid - Football Champions League

The fight to become the winner of Group H of the UEFA Champions League heated up last night with Tottenham demonstrating a world class performance against the UEFA Champions League holder's Real Madrid with a final result of Tottenham 3 : Real Madrid 1
Tottenham Vs Real Madrid Match Information
The quality of Tottenham was definitely a surprise to Real Madrid who were away for this fixture. Pochettino's Tottenham went ahead in the 27th minute with a stunning strike from Dele Alli, and then he scored again in the 56th minute much to the dismay of the visiting Real Madrid fans. Christian Eriksen then added to the wows with a goal in the 65th minute. Real Madrid did pull a goal back in the 80th minute with a great finish from Christiano Ronaldo but it was too late and the game ended 3-1 in favour of Spurs.

As shown by the below stats Real Madrid did not play poorly, they had the majority of the possession, more overall shots and more shots on target than Tottenham but struggled to find the back of the net.
Tottenham vs Real Madrid Stats
UEFA Champions League - Group H Table.

This win for Tottenham means they have qualified for the next stage of the UEFA Champions League and have a good chance to finish first in the group. Meanwhile Borussia Dortmund vs Apoel Nicosia ended in a 1:1 draw making it very difficult for Borussia Dortmund to qualify for the next stage almost ensuring Real Madrid will go through to the next round also.

UEFA Champions League – 31/10/2017 Results!

Yesterday's champions league football results were very surprising and included a huge upset for Chelsea in their clash vs Roma. We also got to see Man United, Chelsea, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and more big names from European football as the battles continue to make it through the group stages of the UEFA Champions League!
Roma Vs Chelsea
The Roma vs Chelsea game was easily the most entertaining game of the day as Chelsea fell apart in the first minute which ultimately lead to a disastrous 3-0 defeat away from home to the Italian club Roma. This loss means Chelsea are now the first club from the English Premier League to be beaten in the Champions League this season!
The problems started just 39 seconds into the first half of the game with Edin Dzeko flicking a long ball from Aleksandar Kolarov’s to the feet of Stephan El Shaarawy who smashed it home from 25 yards. Chelsea's nightmare continued as Alvaro Morata missed a great chance at close range to equalize and then El Shaarawy made it 2-0 in the 36th minute with another goal setup by a long ball, which the Chelsea defense failed to deal with. Perotti sealed the scoreline at 3-0 with a 20 yard goal as the Chelsea defenders could not close him down after a fast run.
Despite the 0-3 scoreline Chelsea had plenty of chances to score and even had more shots than Roma and a similar amount of possession, they just could not get a goal with any of their 6 shots on target and ultimately were let down by their abysmal defending.
Roma vs Chelsea Stats
With today’s result Chelsea are now second Group C of the UEFA Champions League Group C, but as Atlético Madrid only got a draw at FK Qarabag the chances of Chelsea going through are still great, if they get a win at their next fixture vs Qarabag on Wednesday 22nd November they will get a place in the next round!
Manchester United Vs Benfica
Two goals for Manchester United saw them finish 2-0 in a close game which could of easily went either way, but luckily for the Red Devils it was their night as Benfica couldn't find the back of the net thanks to some superb saves from David De Gea. Man Utd's first goal was through an unlucky mistake by the Benfica Goalkeeper Mile Svilar in the 45th minute which could of been easily avoided.
The first Man United goal saw Nemanja Matic’s powerful strike hit the woodwork but bounce back across goal and deflect of the Benfica goalkeeper who had dived to save the goal. The second goal came from a late penalty kick which was converted into a goal by full-back Daley Blind in the 78th minute.
This win for Manchester United was their 4th in a row in the UEFA Champions League group stages. They are now 6 points in front of second place FC Basel and require just one point away from the remaining 2 games to advance to the next stage of the competition!
